For ARK Survival Evolved (PS4, Xbox One, PC) the long-awaited expansion Aberration is finally here. After several delays, the release is now happening. You can now face mutants and aliens in a contaminated world.
Players of the survival MMO ARK: Survival Evolved had to wait a long time for the new expansion Aberration. It was initially said that it would come in October. Then it suddenly became November, and ultimately December 12 was cited as the release date. However, those who waited skeptically for another delay today will be proven wrong.
Today, on December 12, 2017, Aberration actually comes out! According to Steam, however, it will likely be around 8 PM.
Mutated Dinos, Dark Caves, and Aliens Like in the Alien Movie!
The regular ARK lets you ride on dinosaurs through enemies. In Aberration, however, you are in a world where the sun kills you with radioactive rays. Therefore, you crawl through dark caves illuminated only by glowing plants and crystals.
Down there, there are even horrific creatures that usually love to eat you. Among them is a camouflaged flying lizard, a somewhat cute mix between a frog and an anglerfish, and hideous creatures that plant their young in you like in the Alien movies.
If you do nothing about it, a little beast grows inside you, which then bursts out of your chest in a fountain of blood and guts.
50 New Items for Crafting
The Aberration expansion also includes 50 new items. You can craft zip lines, wingsuits for flying, and climbing gear to experiment with in the dark world.
You can buy Aberration separately on Steam, among other platforms or get the Season Pass, which also includes the expansion pack Scorched Earth and a future, yet unknown addon.
In the caves of Aberration, the gameplay of Ark is supposed to feel completely different.
