The latest update of ARK: Survival Evolved brought a new dino with rather “unusual” abilities.

The chain of content updates for ARK: Survival Evolved seems to have no end. The latest patch (v266) introduced the Oviraptor to the game, a small carnivore that actually couldn’t harm anyone – or so one would think. These little predators with their cute sounds primarily feed on the eggs of other animals.
But the delicious snack is usually guarded by an angry mother animal that must be tricked – and this is where the Oviraptor seems to have gotten some demonic help. It emits a scent that acts like an aphrodisiac to most dinosaurs. This allows the little Ovi to snatch its prey while the parents are busy with other tasks, to – well – lay new eggs. Sometimes, Mother Nature is quite strange, isn’t she?
Players can take advantage of both abilities and have dino eggs stolen from a safe distance or properly stimulate the breeding process of their own offspring.
The update also brought several other innovations, such as an industrial oven that allows for large-scale food production, feeding entire tribes at once.
In addition to new dinosaurs, the developers are also working to make the game world even more exciting. Many areas are therefore being expanded with new ruins, caves, and other secrets.
