If you look at ARK: Survival Evolved soberly, the game could hardly be doing better at the moment. Since the game launched on PC, it has sold several million copies – and not just on the computer. Business is also booming on the Xbox One with early access, and just recently the split-screen mode was introduced.
One element that players painfully miss, however, is the story behind ARK. Why is the island the way it is? What are the strange constructs? What do the ruins mean?
These players are now being catered to, and exciting information about the backstory is to be provided. The first step is the implementation of various writings. These are documents written by former researchers or past inhabitants of the island. The information contained is supposed to not only provide insights into the fate of the island but also important clues that will further players in terms of gameplay. Whether this refers to new recipes, hidden caves, or other things remains to be seen.
