ARK: Survival Evolved has announced a new update that will allow players to experience the island anew: as dinosaurs!
“Primal Survival” turns ARK players into Dinos and other creatures
The official release of ARK: Survival Evolved was delayed a few months because the developers needed more time to create the game as they envisioned. And they are using this time! In the next update of the survival game, players will be able to experience ARK in a completely new way: through the eyes of the animals.
Players can take on the role of almost all creatures in “ARK: Primal Survival”, whether they are oversized sharks, small poisonous bugs, or various species of dinosaurs. Officially, it states:
“ARK: Primal Survival is an upcoming complete conversion of the game where survivors can play, live, and reproduce as any of ARK’s creatures. Survivors will experience all the mechanics of the life cycle, including mating, raising young, recruiting additional members for the herd or swarm, and even constructing primitive shelters of the respective species.”
Even though the trailer currently only shows footage of various animals going about their “daily lives,” the update promises to allow players to perceive ARK from a completely new perspective. Because who wouldn’t want to be a little bug and destroy that annoying dino herd that keeps wrecking the beautiful building?
Or as Kotaku aptly summarizes:
“Transforming into a dinosaur to mate with my best buddies, raise valuable children, and create a herd that will ultimately be torn apart by gigantic maws? Corrupt.”
