What is Genesis anyway? The next big expansion for ARK brings a lot of new features. Among other things, a new story begins.

When will Genesis be released? The release of the first of two parts of the extremely extensive expansion was recently postponed to February 25.
Wishes for Genesis are great
This is what players wish for from the new addon: ARK is still very popular and fans are looking forward to the new expansion. Many discussions are being held about what Genesis should be and what features players want. We have compiled 5 of these wishes for you.
5. More story, less survival
ARK, as it currently is, should remain as it is, according to some players. But what if ARK evolves in a different direction with Genesis? Essentially, it could become a new kind of game that relies less on survival and focuses more on storytelling.
The proposal is somewhat in the direction of a theme park MMORPG. Missions, stories, an overarching story… All this would be experienced together with friends, and players wouldn’t have to worry too much about survival elements anymore. Those who love the old gameplay can still play the “old” ARK.
Frikkie101 writes in the official forum: “Actually, I want a game that is more story-based than survival-based. My idea is basically a brand new type of game.”
4. Larger maps, more dinosaurs
For Genesis, there is a huge desire for larger maps and more creatures. While some wish for a single, gigantic game world, others are satisfied if the maps just become a bit larger and encompass more than just one biome.
There should be more to explore and more dinosaurs to tame and breed. However, the story should not be neglected either.
Calico45 explains this in the official forum: “I want a large map with several biomes, a variety of old and new unique creatures, standard selling point gameplay mechanics, and cohesive story snippets. It still hurts a little not to have a final cutscene for SE, no matter how much I love the map.”
3. A huge, cohesive game world
The wish was expressed in the official forum that all previous maps of ARK should be merged into a gigantic game world. It is a problem that you have to switch to another server to tame a creature that is not available on your own server.
This could provide relief and create a new gaming experience in a gigantic world where everything exists.
Sikaflex writes in the official ARK forum: “I want all maps and all dinosaurs to be combined into one massive ARK. Just combine everything, a huge map, plenty of places to build, all boss fights from every map, all engrams and ascensions.”
2. A fresh start with Conquest Season 2
The current servers of ARK have problems with duplicated items or overpopulation with breeding lines of creatures. While some players have quit and would like to return, the situation on the servers scares them away.
Therefore, there is a desire for some kind of Season 2 to be launched. This should represent a fresh start. New servers where everyone starts from the same point.
FliteSchool explains it on Reddit: “With the upcoming release of Genesis, we should get a Season 2 of Conquest. There are a lot of groups and players who want to play ARK again. However, the current servers are not an option. We need new official servers, preferably Conquest, as these target medium-sized tribes (25 players).”
1. Better performance
This is more of a general wish. Because despite all the optimizations and improvements over the years, ARK still does not run smoothly on some PCs.
Especially on consoles, this is a problem, and some fans hope for the long-awaited improvement. Whether Genesis will bring this is rather questionable.
NoizeSODA explains on Reddit: “I have invested so many hours into this game but I stopped playing because the FPS became unbearable.”
