Are you waiting for Greymoor? I have already found a lot of Skyrim in ESO

The region of Skyrim is among the favorites of Elder Scrolls fans, alongside Morrowind. After all, 2 of the most popular games in the series took place in the respective regions. Therefore, it is not surprising that the developers chose Skyrim as the setting in the upcoming expansion Greymoor.

However, unfortunately, Greymoor will only be released on May 26 for PC and June 9 for consoles.

What can a Skyrim fan do if they urgently need snowy expanses and hearty Nord festivities?

Here you can already find plenty of Skyrim in ESO

So much Skyrim is already present in ESO: Anyone who has played ESO on the side of the Ebonheart Pact will have visited several regions of Skyrim in ESO. Over time, additional regions have come, especially in the form of dungeon instances.

Here you can already find Skyrim in ESO. The large spot between Eastmarch and the Glacier is still empty and is expected to be filled with Greymoor. And then there is the island of Solstheim to the north…

I, Jürgen, bravely ventured into the north of Tamriel and searched for Skyrim areas. The following paragraphs show you where you can already catch a whiff of the icy air of the north.

Bleakrock Isle

Here you can find the region: Anyone starting the game on the side of the Pact automatically lands there. On the other hand, you can book a passage to the desolate island from Davon’s Watch. Bleakrock Isle is a barren island off the coast of Skyrim.

The icy island of Bleakrock Isle.

What awaits you there: As a starting region, Bleakrock Isle already offers a good portion of Skyrim for all fans of the region. You will find snowy plains, hearty longhouses, and even the ever-popular burial mounds with dungeons and undead.

A particularly funny quest lets you find people transformed into skeevers and turn them back.

As the story progresses, you help the island’s inhabitants fend off an attack from the Daggerfall Covenant and ultimately organize their orderly retreat from the island to the mainland.

Eastmarch

Here you can find the region: Eastmarch is the easternmost of the Skyrim regions. You will find it in the north of the country and can reach it via the Rift region to the south.

eso ostmarsch 01
A landscape in Eastmarch.

What awaits you there: Eastmarch is a major adventure region of ESO, which has been present since the base game. Here you will find plenty of quests and things to explore. There are over a dozen complex quests alone here. In addition, there are 7 dungeons and 2 large group dungeons, which I will detail below.

A highlight of the region is certainly the ancient city of Windhelm, which you will surely remember from the game Skyrim. In ESO, the king of the Ebonheart Pact resides here.

By the way, Eastmarch used to be a mid-game region in ESO, which you visited around level 31 to 37.

Rift

Here you can find the region: Rift is located just south of Eastmarch and is the southernmost of the Skyrim regions in the game. You can reach it, among other ways, from Cyrodiil.

eso The-Rift 01
The regional capital Riften with the magnificent Fighters Guild.

What awaits you there: Rift is further south than the rest of Skyrim and therefore not quite as frosty. You can expect forests and meadows full of animals. In addition, the capital Riften invites you to linger.

Rift offers many challenges: you get 7 public dungeons and a group instance, which I will introduce below. In addition, numerous complex quest lines guide you through the region. You will have a lot to do until you are done with Rift.

By the way, Rift used to be the high-level region of the Ebonheart Pact. You roamed there from level 38 to 43.

Fulstrom Homestead

Here you can find the region: This fortified farmhouse is located in Eastmarch, but you can only visit it during the introductory quest of the DLC Thieves Guild.

What awaits you there: At the request of the aspiring thief Quen, you should steal a mysterious skull from the possession of the local ruler. You sneak through a lovingly crafted Nord homestead, where you can extensively test the new stealth system from the Thieves Guild.

So here you sneak for the first time in ESO from cover to cover and hide from the guards in randomly placed willow baskets.

Direfrost Keep

Here you can find the region: This is a group dungeon that has been around since the base game. It is physically located in the Eastmarch region in the mountains, but you can also easily access it via the dungeon finder.

Even bears are enemies in the frozen fortress.

What awaits you there: The fortress is the ancient home of the Direfrost Clan. However, nothing has been heard from them in some time. Instead, ice storms rage over the castle.

Inside the fortress, you will encounter undead and, at the end, a nasty witch whose companions we currently encounter at the Glacier. ESO had hinted at a threat here back then that is only now becoming relevant.

Falkreath

Here you can find the region: This town is actually located in ESO in the Reach, but it also somehow belongs to Skyrim. Falkreath is the scene of a dungeon in the DLC Horns of The Reach.

ESO-Falkenring10
The great final battle against the chief bull.

What awaits you there: In this dungeon, which is actually more of a scenario instance, you must defend the city against an attack from minotaurs. It starts off hard, as you fend off a siege mammoth at the gates and bombard it with arrows.

In the end, everything culminates in an epic battle against a colossal minotaur in the hall of the jarl. With the massive boss that fights in a sea of flames, this final battle is considered one of the most spectacular dungeon fights in the game.

Glacier

Here you can find the region: This region is located high in the north and can only be accessed during the dungeon Glacier from the DLC Harrowstorm.

These nasty witches are the bosses in the Glacier.

What awaits you there: This dungeon is part of the prelude to Greymoor and introduces two important story elements. On the one hand, you meet the warrior Lyris Titanborn, who plays an important role in Greymoor again.

Here she is not yet involved, but you will find Lyris later in the dungeon, where she helps you at the right moments with her big axe.

Moreover, the nasty witches appear again here, who will be responsible for the dreaded storms in Greymoor and already wreak havoc here.

Especially the final battle, in which all remaining witches of the circle appear together, will keep you busy countering their dark magic in time. Otherwise, you will all just die automatically!

Blessed Crucible

Here you can find the region: This dungeon from the base game is located in the mountains of the Rift region. You can also access it via the dungeon finder.

eso Blessed-Crucible
Here you can expect ruins of the Daedra.

What awaits you there: Most regions of Skyrim are icy and cold. Yet here, you encounter an ancient Daedra ruin permeated with lava located in the mountains.

Bloody gladiatorial battles take place there, and you must prove yourself against the bosses, including a tiefling who has a giant troll unleashed on you.

In the end, you will come face to face with the Lava Queen herself, the 400-year-old arena master. So prepare yourself for a tough battle.

Frostvault

Here you can find the region: The Frostvault is a large dungeon from the DLC Wrathstone. It is physically located in Eastmarch and can also be found via the dungeon finder.

The massive final boss of the dungeon.

What awaits you there: The Frostvault is an ancient Dwemer ruin that has only recently thawed out. However, before you delve deeper into the vaults, you must drive out the goblin tribe residing there.

After that, you will repair a huge Dwemer machine that will clear the way into the chamber for you.

At the end of the instance, you will encounter a giant Dwemer colossus and take part of the Grudge Stone as a reward. But to achieve all of this, you need to transform into a cool new feature into a small, deployable rat and sabotage inside the colossus. Only then will you be able to master the colossus in the end.
