Mad World is a new MMORPG. The developers are currently preparing an alpha that leads to the release this year. What’s interesting about it is that it can basically be played on any platform.
What is Mad World? You might not have heard of Mad World. The MMORPG is based on HTML5, so it is basically a browser game. Nevertheless, the game contains a genuine and complex online role-playing experience.
You find yourself in a post-apocalyptic world haunted by dark souls. You set out to fight for a new, better future.
The game is played from an isometric perspective. You see your hero from a diagonal angle, similar to hack and slays. The graphics are entirely hand-drawn, creating a very special atmosphere.
You explore this world together with friends and encounter NPCs who have quests for you, telling small or large stories.
You create an individual hero, which you develop over time based on a complex skill tree. There are no classes.
In Mad World, you fight in fast-paced action-packed battles against enemies, including gigantic bosses, for which you need specific strategies to defeat them. The monsters look quite grotesque, like from horror films, which fits the dark atmosphere of the game.
Crafting is also important, and PvP plays a role. You form a tribe, and wars between different clans can occur. Even raids take place in the game.

What is special about the game? Apart from the hand-drawn 2D graphics, it is possible to play Mad World on basically any platform. Thanks to HTML5, you just play in the browser on your PC or on your smartphone. Even consoles are said to be supported.
Due to the technology, crossplay is not a problem. No matter which platform you are currently on, you are always playing with everyone else.
When will Mad World be released? The MMORPG was originally supposed to be released at the end of 2020. However, that did not happen. The team has announced an international alpha for January/February, which has not yet started.
Even though the development has been significantly delayed, the team plans to release Mad World still in 2021.
Who is behind the game? Mad World is not developed by an unknown team. Jandisoft consists of developers who previously worked on the MMORPG classic Metin 2, which is still successful today, around 17 years after its release.
