Some users are reporting performance issues with Windows 11. Now an update is supposed to solve these problems and improve performance.
We at MeinMMO reported that some users have performance issues with AMD’s Ryzen under Windows 11.
However, with the first patch for Windows 11, Microsoft fixed some bugs, but the performance with Ryzen is said to have significantly worsened. Some reported a loss of up to 15%.
However, Microsoft and AMD stated that they want to work together to address the issue. Now the two manufacturers have released an update for Windows 11, which is supposed to finally solve the performance problems.
Update for Windows 11 aims to fix all problems with AMD processors
This is what the update brings: The patch aims to focus mainly on issues with Ryzen processors.
The update is particularly supposed to address the problem with the L3 cache. This cache is supposed to facilitate and accelerate data exchange between the cores. Before the patch, there were high latencies that were not intended.
AMD now states in an official blog post that the problems with the latest Windows update should be resolved (via AMD.com). AMD writes (translated):
AMD chipset driver 3.10.08.506 completely resolves the performance impacts of the problem described in this article. AMD has verified that the performance and behavior of compatible AMD processors under Windows 11 function as intended after installing these updates. AMD and Microsoft recommend that users promptly install this update on affected systems.
How to install the update: If you have not yet installed the patch on your system, it will appear as an optional update in Windows Update for Windows 11 Home and Pro. Otherwise, the update should automatically download and install with the next Tuesday patch.
