Fortnite has announced the Crew subscription, which will be active at the start of Season 5. We have summarized everything you need to know here. This way, you can decide for yourself whether the subscription is worth it for you or not.
What kind of subscription is this? Fortnite introduced the new Crew subscription with a trailer, which will be active from December 2, 2020. For players who choose to become part of the Crew, there are monthly goodies in the form of skins and cosmetics, which will be exclusive to subscription holders.
But how does the subscription work and what can you expect when you sign up? We summarize the most important information for you and clarify questions you might still have about it.
All Information about the Crew Subscription
The most important questions answered quickly: First, we want to briefly answer the basic questions:

How much does the Crew subscription cost? If you decide to take out a subscription, there will be a monthly cost of 11.99 euros. If you later decide against it, you can cancel it anytime.
What is included in the subscription? With the subscription, you can secure various contents for a monthly fee. These include:
- Access to the current Battle Pass. While it doesn’t change monthly, it is always included in the subscription. The Battle Pass typically costs 950 V-Bucks, which is about 8 euros. Additionally, it includes more V-Bucks and plenty of cosmetics.
- 1,000 V-Bucks per month. This also equals about 8 euros in value – with them, you can purchase skins, cosmetics and emotes.
- Additionally, there is an exclusive skin pack each month, which is only available to subscription holders. Skins in the shop usually cost between 10 and 20 euros.
What does such a Crew pack look like? An example of what such a Crew pack looks like, which will only be available to subscribers, is shown by the first skin pack that has already been announced.
This will be available directly at the release of the subscription in December and brings “Galaxia”. The female outfit comes with a back accessory and a unicorn pickaxe.
Do I save money with the subscription? If you calculate how much you would normally spend on all the included items, you end up spending around 26-36 euros. So if you regularly invest money in Fortnite for skins and cosmetics and buy the Battle Pass each season, you actually save half the cost.
Important: If you decide to take the Crew subscription, you do not need to buy the Battle Pass separately. You will not have to pay for the subscription and the pass. It remains at 11.99 euros.
When will the next package be announced? The skin pack that is included in the subscription changes monthly. The next package is supposed to be announced always at the end of the month.
The second package in this series will be announced at the end of December. The first will be released on December 2.
How do you get the subscription?
How do you sign up for a Crew subscription? When “purchasing” a subscription, you should not have any major difficulties. According to Epic, it will be offered right in the item shop, or you will find it directly in the purchase area of the Battle Pass.
But we will probably only see exactly how it will look when it becomes available in the game on December 2, 2020.
How can you cancel the subscription? If you have taken out the subscription but are not satisfied, you can cancel it anytime.
The cancellation process also takes place directly in the game. For that, you need to go to the menu tab labeled Fortnite Crew, and you can cancel the subscription directly from there. You will be guided through the process, so it should be relatively easy to handle.
