In Lost Ark there is a debate that female characters are almost exclusively designed to be sexy. Top streamer Asmongold sees hypocrisy here, as according to him, male heroes are also total models. His own “Giga-Chad” character is the best example.
What is the problem with the female characters? Lost Ark has finally been released and is also well received by many players. However, some have complained that their female characters have hardly any clothing that is not overly sexy.
Furthermore, the animations of the female characters while running look quite silly.
Moreover, it is criticized that all the male characters are fully clothed and their armors actually look like armor and not just hotpants and tight tops.
This, however, is vehemently contradicted by the famous streamer Asmongold.
“My hero is a giant, 2-meter tall Giga-Chad!”
This is what Asmongold says: Asmongold, who himself eagerly plays and streams Lost Ark, has a problem with the debate about too much sexualization and objectification in Lost Ark. According to him, the male heroes are equally affected. In a slightly angry speech in his stream, he says:
I find it strange that it is somehow perfectly fine and not even questioned that my character looks like a Mr. Olympia. He is a gigantic bodybuilder with a perfect head of hair. He is a giant 2-meter tall Giga-Chad.
At the moment a female character has more than D-cup breasts, people say: “Oh my god, can we stop with the objectification?” Hey, keep your mouth shut!
His hero, according to Asmongold, is just as exaggerated a conglomerate of displayed [male] attractiveness attributes as the female characters in the game. Therefore, this whole debate about too much sexiness and objectification is hypocritical.
What does Asmongold think about it? Asmongold has no problem with the fact that his hero is basically an ideal image of displayed masculinity. He himself could look like that if he trained enough.
Rather, he explained in another stream that he cannot imagine embodying a female character in the game. He would rather have a visual representation of himself in the game, even if this requires some work in the gym.
So much for Asmongold’s opinion on the whole debate about sexualization and objectification in Lost Ark. What is your opinion on the topic? Let us know in the comments.
