There are new updates about the supply crates in the sand park MMO ArcheAge . Also, the policy of Trion Worlds regarding player blockades is explained.
Recently, there was a detailed live stream for ArcheAge where the status of the game was clarified. Employees from the West publisher Trion Worlds answered numerous questions from fans.
Fans do not like supply crates
The focus remains on the “supply crates,” the so-called lockboxes. Currently, there is a new one available with the Aquatic Archeum Supply Crate, from which players can draw a blue dolphin, but it is rare and many crates without it feel like a dud. Not a feeling anyone wants to have when investing real currency crystals.
Players have loudly and repeatedly expressed their displeasure about this type of supply crate in the past.
Especially since in January it was promised that such special rewards, like the dolphin now, would not be brought into the game through this crate, but also elsewhere, such as through loyalty rewards, the frustration is significant.
Supply crates are important to keep ArcheAge alive
The Trion Worlds team emphasized multiple times during the stream that they understood this, that they continuously convey the players’ situation in conversations with XLGames, and represent their interests. However, it is a give-and-take; no side gets 100% of what they want.
The supply crates are extremely important to the team. They help keep ArcheAge alive. Therefore, they will remain.
However, they want to strongly advocate for increasing the value of the supply crates, so that even the so-called “duds” are still valuable and can please the players. But this does not apply yet to the dolphin supply crate, but only for future ones.
This is how Trion Worlds views blockades
With the removal of the AFK timer , blockades are now back in the spotlight. This is a phenomenon that emerged early in the game’s development. Players block choke points, hold other players captive, demand tolls, or just troll. Now, without the AFK timer, this happens more frequently as it costs players nothing.
According to Trion Worlds, they do not support blockades, but also do nothing against them. These are matters that players must handle on their own in the world with the means available. There have been creative solutions, such as “training” mobs, a tactic where a horde of monsters is unleashed on the blocker. They also do nothing against this training, of course.
In general, they have now developed quite a laissez-faire attitude. They also find AFK leveling of mounts acceptable now.
