ArcheAge 4.5 has launched and players are already trying out the new features. However, not all of them are well received. This has led to long queues on Fresh-Start servers.
Trion Worlds has not had a particularly good reputation among many players. ArcheAge is believed to have too many Pay2Win elements and many players think it is not being supported well enough.
At least in response to the latter criticism, the studio is now addressing this with the release of Update 4.5, introducing a series of new features, such as dragons as mounts.
New servers are well received, yet there is criticism
Especially the new progression servers are currently quite popular among ArcheAge and there are currently queues where players might experience longer wait times.
Players are therefore very interested in trying out the new player experience. However, with the new update comes criticism again:
- The servers were offline significantly longer than planned during the update rollout. Players were unable to play for 24 hours, which is why they are now demanding compensation.
- The melee system received a new balancing, which weakens melee fighters. According to some players, they now feel more like tanks, as they deal significantly less damage than before.
- The increased collision damage during ship collisions is being heavily discussed. Some players are disappointed because certain maneuvers no longer work.
- The fishing system currently offers an exploit with too many rewards and is being heavily exploited – despite warnings from the developers. This negatively impacts the economy.
- The login tracker is not functioning correctly, which means that bonuses for daily logins are not being awarded correctly.
- The stealth system has been revised, and players can no longer hide for an extended period to wait for access to a vendor. This frustrates many players.
The launch was “okay”
Overall, the launch of Update 4.5 went “okay”. The criticism that is currently being voiced is actually normal after such a comprehensive update.
Of course, Trion Worlds needs to make adjustments here and there, which will likely happen soon.
