In ArcheAge, the operator has now removed gold from the game that players received from gold sellers.
“Poof” and the gold was gone
In a forum post, Victoria Voss, the producer of ArcheAge, made it clear where the complaints of some in the official forum come from: they lack gold. According to Voss, gold was removed from the game that players either acquired from gold sellers or received as gifts. At Trion Worlds, there is the ability to track the flow of gold, and that is exactly what is happening now, and then it disappears into the same mysterious ether from which it came.
Voss advises all players not to buy gold from gold sellers. These are the same people who spammed the chat, besieged ArcheAge with bots, or exploited the land hack.
Players are welcome to try to contact the gold sellers and negotiate for a refund. Trion Worlds will not restore the gold under any circumstances.
17,000 players banned in the last 2 days in ArcheAge
In another current post, community manager Scapes writes that 17,000 accounts were banned in just the last 2 days. The first 10,000 were announced the day before via in-game message.
Players lost their accounts because they used spam software, third-party bot tools, or because they hacked. The banned players will not get their account back, but they can create a new one to participate legally in the game.
The gold referenced by Voss likely comes from these 17,000 accounts. Just yesterday, we reported that Trion Worlds CEO Scott Hartsman described and announced such measures.
Mein MMO thinks: Interestingly, besides everything else, this statement explicitly mentions the land hack as a problem. Previously, from fan sources, it was often said: These are just very fast clickers, and that’s just coincidental, that’s okay. But the problem was real or is real. This is also indicated by a fix in the last patch: The distance allowed between a player and a placed house has been reduced. Furthermore, the maximum length of chat lines has been decreased. This way, many spammers circumvented a block by annoyed players.
