We reported a few weeks ago that the release of ArcheAge in the West, after a long wait, is gradually approaching. The English version is already almost fully localized and a beta for selected individuals is currently in progress. Obviously, this is no joke, as Trion Worlds, the publisher that will handle the game’s operations in America and Europe*, has revealed further information in a blog post!
Trion Worlds reports in this from a visit to the developer XL Games. For a week in Korea, many promising conversations were held, in which it became clear how important the sandbox elements of ArcheAge are for the Western version, and that one should continue to focus on these. Only by doing so can one give the whole thing a unique touch. Recently, there have been some not-so-positive reports from Asia regarding this, indicating that the game is increasingly drifting towards a theme park MMO due to the latest updates.
Logically, they didn’t just want to talk about game content. High priority was also given to discussions about the upcoming release and how to best approach the launch:
As we are now accelerating the endeavor, the meeting with the press in March, during the Game Developer’s Conference in San Francisco, will mark the start of enlightening information, with which we will officially promote – regarding the beta and more.
So, they are now officially promoting, which can only mean that concrete dates for the beta and perhaps even for the release will be announced in March. We will keep you updated! What do you think about ArcheAge? Have they kept us waiting too long for the beta, or can it still become a success?
*Russia is of course also part of Europe, but that is a different story. For those interested: The game officially launched there yesterday, under the Russian publisher Mail.Ru.
