Epic Games has announced a new skin for Fortnite with a new, short trailer. Vi comes as a playable character, one of the heroines from the popular animated series Arcane. As a bonus, her sister Jinx is also making a return.
Who is the heroine? The pink-haired Vi is actually a champion from the MOBA League of Legends. At the end of 2021, she and several other characters gained renewed fame when the animated series Arcane premiered on Netflix.
Vi, short for Violet, is a street girl from the “Undercity” of Zhaun, which belongs to the wealthy city of Piltover. There, she fights daily for survival, makes ends meet with minor (or major) crimes, and takes care of her little sister Powder/Jinx.
In LoL she wears iconic Hextech gloves that deliver powerful blows through magic and technology. Her appearance from Arcane has now been brought into the game as a skin:
How do I get the skin? The Vi skin has been available since January 22 in Fortnite’s item shop. You can buy it individually or in a bundle. This includes:
- the Arcane Vi skin
- “Memories of Zhaun” as Back Bling – Vis plush toy
- the pickaxe “Piltover Warden Hammer”
- as well as the emote “Punching Practice”
If you buy the entire bundle, you will also receive a unique loading screen featuring Vi. Alongside Vi, her sister Jinx will also be available as a skin, also in a bundle, if you want her pickaxe and a soundtrack.

LoL crossover in Fortnite: Fans want more
This is what players say: The skin is causing huge excitement on YouTube and Twitter. Within less than a day, the English trailer has over 290,000 views and over 20,000 likes. The community celebrates how faithfully Vi is portrayed – especially in comparison to Jinx.
Even players who do not play or like LoL are excited. For example, YouTube user Ftm Plays says: “I’m not a big fan of League of Legends, but this looks really cool.”
However, the pickaxe of Vi is causing major frustration. Fans had hoped for her Atlas gloves instead of the hammer, which actually belongs to the champion Jayce. However, the choice of weapon is now leading to further speculation and desires.
Players are asking Epic if other characters from Arcane could also come to Fortnite. Ekko or Caitlyn, for example, would be great additions. Silco would also be a good choice. On MeinMMO we have already introduced all characters from Arcane. You can watch the LoL heroes here in the video:
What will happen in Arcane next? The first season of Arcane has concluded and has left a rather open ending. However, the series is already considered one of the best shows of all time.
Riot is often praised for the implementation. Both the style and the storyline are said to be top-notch, especially as taboos are broken. Many fans are eagerly awaiting the second season, which has at least already been confirmed:
