Why is loot so important in ARC Raiders? In extraction shooters, the goal is primarily to get as much loot as your pockets can carry. ARC Raiders is no exception, as with it you can complete missions, craft items, upgrade or sell weapons to earn money. That’s why it’s all about loot.
What exactly is loot in ARC Raiders? Loot comes in various forms, ranging from mere mechanical components and medical supplies to weapons, grenades, or shields. Depending on where you search, your haul may vary. So, it’s important to know how looting works in ARC Raiders.
What to pay attention to when looting
What is important when exploring? As a beginner, you take any path and try to familiarize yourself with the map. This is not a bad thing for your first ventures, but the longer you are active as a Raider, the more you should consider planning a route that is efficient and rewarding.
To illustrate how you should best plan a route, let’s take the map of the dam as an example. A map is always divided into different areas. Each of these areas, also called POIs (Points of Interest), is marked with a specific color.
- Transparent
- Yellow
- Red
The color indicates how much loot is in the areas. While “transparent” only suggests a sparse item density, areas marked in red basically offer the loot jackpot with a greater variety.
Of course, it would be tempting to advance straight into the red areas, but these are usually guarded by powerful ARCs and carry a higher risk of also containing enemy Raiders. Additionally, your spawn point is random with each new round, and events like nights or electromagnetic storms also influence your tactical approach. So, you can’t always follow the same route – you have to be spontaneous and flexible.
How do I create a reliable loot route? First, you need to familiarize yourself with the map. Then you should find out what loot you need. If you’re a newcomer, you should visit POIs that are transparent or yellow and typically have a lower ARC density to avoid being caught in a hail of bullets on your way there.
Once you feel more confident and have better gear, you can venture into a red area. It’s also important to consider escape routes in case you are hunted by a squad. This way, you can quickly flee without panicking and getting caught.
