The market research institute SuperData has released the digital revenue figures for the month of April. These show that especially the top games like Apex Legend and Overwatch are struggling.
What figures are we talking about? The figures come from SuperData. The market research institute announces all digital revenues of games every month. This includes sales in in-game shops, or for example in the PS Store or the Microsoft Store. Sales of box versions in retail stores are not included.
What the figures from SuperData show in April 2019

What is happening in the PC charts? The top positions have hardly changed compared to the previous month. League of Legends, Dungeon Fighter Online, Fantasy Westward Journey Online 2, Crossfire, Fortnite, and World of Tanks dominate the top six positions.
What are the surprises? Particularly interesting is that Apex Legends has completely dropped out of the list. Instead, Hearthstone is back in at position 9. New content may bring the game back into the charts, but according to SuperData, the revenues are still significantly lower than last year.
Additionally, The Division 2 is making its way into the PC charts, debuting at position 7.
Also fallen out are World of Warcraft and DotA 2. Meanwhile, CS: GO is back in the list at rank 10. Fortnite continues to perform very well.
For Blizzard, this is a bitter month: WoW is no longer in, with Overwatch revenues continuing to decline, and Hearthstone is back, but the figures are still not good.

How do the console charts look? The two big losers on consoles are Apex Legends, which has completely fallen out of the list, and The Division 2. Ubisoft’s online shooter fell from position 1 in March to 10. The revenues from Apex Legends are currently only a quarter of what the shooter earned in February.
Currently, the sales figures for The Division 2 on console are also not convincing. They are below Ubisoft’s expectations.
Also no longer in is GTA 5. Instead, the beat ’em up Mortal Kombat 11 enters at rank 1 with the best launch in the history of the series. The single-player game Days Gone celebrates its debut at position 6.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice (rank 8) is performing quite well on both PC and consoles (rank 3). We find no trace of Anthem in any list anymore. Likewise, we don’t find Overwatch in the list, which wasn’t in the previous month either. Revenues from Blizzard’s online shooter are reportedly declining further according to SuperData.

What about mobile games? Basically, we find the usual suspects in the list again this month. The newcomer from March, Perfect World, had to give up its first place to Honor of Kings and is now in rank 2. Pokémon GO dropped from position 4 to 6, and at rank 8 we find a new game, the puzzle game Puzzle & Dragons.
The mobile version of Fantasy Westward Journey is not performing as well as the PC version and dropped out of the list in April.
