For Apex Legends the long-awaited Season 2 was finally presented at E3 2019. Learn here what new features are coming, what the challenges look like, and what the developers are planning for weapons, Battle Pass, and Legends.
When does Season 2 start? Season 2 of the battle royale shooter Apex Legends was recently presented at the E3 2019 in Los Angeles. It starts on July 2, 2019, and is called “Battle Charge.” The end date is still unknown.

The Highlights of Season 2
What’s included in Season 2: The following highlights are in Season 2:
- A new Legend named Wattson. She is a trapper who works with electricity and sets tactical traps in the form of electric fences.
- A new weapon: The L-Star. An experimental weapon that seems to be a type of plasma machine gun with a large magazine. It is supposed to be very powerful and only available in care packages. Like the Kraber, it should use a special ammunition that is not otherwise available in the game. The L-Star is even said to be able to blow doors away.
- Old weapons are set to be buffed. Perhaps even the terrible Mozambique? There was at least one hint in the stream…
- 2 new Hop-Up upgrades, according to leaks likely a Shotgun Bolt and a Sniper Stock.
- Daily and weekly challenges to level up faster.
- A new Battle Pass that is supposed to contain more useful stuff and fewer boring placeholders like badges. Respawn has learned from the community feedback on Season 1.
- More skins, three new item types, and more crafting materials to receive items of choice.
- New legendary skins for heroes and weapons: Caustic, Octane, the Spitfire, and the R-301 will become even cooler.
- A Ranked Mode with 6 tiers. From Bronze at the bottom to the top-level “Apex Predator”

What else is there? At the end of the presentation for Apex Legends at E3, an image was shown in which the legends were flying by a giant eye.

According to a leak on Reddit, this could refer to so-called “Flyers”, gigantic, dragon-like flying creatures that were already present in Titanfall back in the day.
Season 2 might bring events with huge PvE opponents like these Flyers. After all, the map is littered with the bones of such titanic beings. Perhaps living examples of them will make an appearance.
