In a new trailer, EA introduced the new Season 5 of Apex Legends. The video shows first insights into a possible story of “Fortune’s Favor” and reveals a bit more about the relationship between the two new legends.
This is in the trailer: The official new trailer was released on May 5 at 19:00 CEST. In the approximately two and a half minutes, there are numerous details about the newly introduced legend Loba.
In the video, Loba enters an underground facility where numerous robot-like machines are hanging on frames that suspiciously resemble the legend from Season 4 : Revenant.
Loba apparently intends to destroy the machines and finds a human face that once belonged to the person who became Revenant. She shoots at the face, but only triggers an alarm and plunges the entire facility into chaos.
Trailer is blowing up on YouTube
The trailer is performing well: As of now (May 6 at 12:00), the trailer has over 4.36 million views and over 250,000 upvotes (with 4,600 downvotes).
In addition, there are another 1.1 million views on Twitter and over 16,000 retweets and 45,000 likes of the official tweet. This makes the video one of the most popular videos at the moment.
The Season 5 trailer is even far ahead at number 1 in the trends on YouTube in the USA. In second place, a teaser from Netflix has just about half the views (2.42 million).
Details on Season 5 “Fortune’s Favor” and Loba
What does the trailer mean? From the previous story, we already know that it was Revenant who murdered Loba’s father. The thief now apparently wants to take revenge and is pursuing Revenant.
However, it looks like Revenant’s body is just a shell. The protected face or head suggests that the person behind Revenant may still be alive and is controlling these robot bodies from afar – which is why he is so well-protected in the facility.
What do the images reveal about the season? In previous seasons, there have often been upheavals due to certain events that were previously hinted at in the trailer. One of the biggest of these changes was the introduction of the new map World’s Edge.
So far, we only know about Season 5 that Loba apparently caused a piece of land to collapse. Where exactly this happened or what consequences it has remains to be seen.
Everything seems to take place in King’s Canyon, the original map that is now playable again. This is shown in the first images where Mirage and Pathfinder are seen in Skull Town. So something may change again on the map from Season 1.
What do the images reveal about Loba? Loba showcases her abilities multiple times in the video, reinforcing the speculations about her skills:
- she uses a disc to teleport (tactical ability “Burglar’s Best Friend”)
- with a grip, she pulls weapons towards her (Ultimate “Black Market Boutique”)
- the weapon she pulls glows briefly (passive “Eye for Quality”)
So far, there is still no official information about Loba’s abilities on the Apex Legends website.
