Respawn, the developers of Apex Legends, recently released an update on the development of the game. In it, there are two weapons discovered in images that are not yet available in the game.
This is how the weapons were leaked: These are two different weapons shown in each image. The images were published in a reddit post , where the developers clarified which issues they will tackle next.
In the images, both Mirage and Lifeline can be seen. Both are carrying weapons on their backs, the shapes of which do not match any of the existing weapons.
However, the images are quite small and not high resolution, making it difficult to discern much about the weapons.
What weapons are we talking about? Due to the poor resolution, one can only guess which weapons are displayed. At least for one weapon, the US site Dexerto already has an idea.
What Mirage is carrying on his back could be the C.A.R. SMG from Titanfall 2. Since Apex Legends is a battle royale set in the Titanfall universe and the weapons already almost completely match those from Titanfall, this sounds plausible.
However, we believe that Lifeline is the one carrying the C.A.R. on her back. What Mirage is lugging around looks more like the LMG L-Star, which also appears in Titanfall. The L-Star has been a candidate for the next weapon for some time.
How reliable are the leaks? Respawn itself said, that fans should not rely too much on leaks. They particularly referred to images and texts found by dataminers. This time, however, the images come straight from Respawn.
Additionally, a user posted a screenshot on reddit showing the legend Wraith holding the LMG. This aligns with the speculations.
Moreover, publisher Sony has already confirmed that in Season 1 of Apex Legends more weapons will be released along with another legend. This also supports the notion that there is more to the images.
