The developers presented some upcoming features for Apex Legends at the GameStop Managers Conference in Nashville. Some of the information has leaked, including a picture of the new legend, which will apparently be Crypto.
Here Crypto was revealed: During the conference, new features for Apex Legends were unveiled. Among them, a new legend: Crypto, the hacker known from previous leaks.
It is assumed that Crypto is significantly responsible for how the map has changed with Season 2 of Apex Legends. He can be seen in the trailers typing somewhat on a laptop. A picture of Crypto was published on reddit.
What can Crypto do? So far, it has generally been assumed that Crypto can hack somehow, similar to Pathfinder or hinder opponents like the new legend Wattson can. However, some of his abilities were also showcased in the leak.
- Apparently, Crypto will get a kind of drone that allows him to observe areas over 200 meters for 40 seconds, hack doors, pick up banners, and loot items.
- Passively, he should be able to detect objects within 30 meters.
- As an ultimate ability, Crypto is set to receive an EMP that damages shields, slows down players, and disables traps.
Apex Legends Season 3: What to expect
These features were also shown: Crypto is not the only new feature that the developers showcased at the conference. Two other new contents were displayed.
On one hand, a new weapon is expected to be released, which has only been referred to as “Charge Rifle” so far. Fans on reddit are already speculating that it will be another strong weapon from airdrops, similar to the new L-STAR.
On the other hand, a Halloween skin for Gibraltar was shown. This transforms the cheerful tank into a Frankenstein-like zombie with pale skin and tubes. Players speculate about an upcoming Halloween event.
When is all of this coming? So far, it is not known when exactly Crypto or the other contents will be released. However, Season 3 is expected to start on October 1. Crypto will likely be part of this season and may appear either at the start or shortly thereafter.
