Apex Legends has announced a major update. You will soon be able to play up to a higher maximum level and receive more than 4 times as many loot boxes as before.
What is changing? In a new blog post, the developers of Apex Legends showed what players of the Battle Royale can expect soon. You can look forward to numerous changes:
- The maximum level will be raised from 100 to 500
- In these 500 levels, there will be 199 Apex Packs (loot boxes) available (previously 45 up to level 100)
- Leveling up to level 100 will be faster
- New weapon charms are coming
When is the update coming? The changes will be implemented starting December 3, 2019.
Higher level, more loot boxes and charms
This is how the new level system works: You will still level up as usual by completing matches and collecting experience in your player level. This is separate from the level of the Battle Pass, such as for Season 3, that you have reached.
Instead of the previous 100 levels, there will now be 500 levels. The required experience to level 100 has been reduced by 5%.
This is how you earn loot boxes: The loot boxes are received in a staggered manner, just like before. However, there will be significantly more loot boxes at the beginning and until level 100. You will receive between level
- 2-20: One Apex Pack per level
- 22-300: One Apex Pack every two levels
- 305-500: One Apex Pack every five levels
Per level, there will additionally still be 600 legend tokens, with which you can buy new legends. Those who have already reached a higher level will receive the remaining Apex Packs credited under the new system. That amounts to up to 14 packs, which you will receive at level 100 on December 3.
What else is there? For reaching certain levels, there are additional rewards in the form of plaques and charms:
- Every 10 levels from level 110 a new plaque
- Every 100 levels a matching charm to the plaque
In addition to these five charms for the levels, there will be additional weapon charms. 36 new “charms” of the tiers “Epic” and “Legendary” will be obtainable from loot boxes or rotate in the shop.
