Apex Legends finally receives the update that fans have been wishing for since its launch. The Iron Crown brings the long-awaited solo mode to the game. Additionally, there are cool new skins, a new location, and bug fixes. Find out when it starts here.
What is the Iron Crown update? The Iron Crown update is the mid-season event of Season 2 in Apex Legends. According to a leak via Dexerto, it includes the following features:
- The long-awaited solo mode. Until now, trios were the usual format, which did not suit all players.
- New skins for all legends
- A new location called Town Takeover
However, it may be that not all features are included in the first update. The developers may still patch in missing content later.
When does it start? According to the developers, the update is scheduled to arrive today, August 13 at 10 am PST. That would be 7 pm local time here.
Leak reveals everything in advance
What exactly is in the update? Since the trailer for the event was leaked in advance by Nvidia, we already know how the skins and the new location look. We have embedded the video here.
Especially the skins look impressive and are likely rewards for certain actions during the event. This was similar to when Apex Legends brought the end event for Season 1.
How long will the solo mode last? The Iron Crown event, along with the solo mode, will only be active until August 27. Only during this time will you likely also be able to earn the new skins.
However, it could very well be that at least the solo mode will be permanently added to the game if the feedback from the community is positive. After all, it is not certain whether the hero-oriented gameplay of Apex Legends also works solo.
