A new change in Apex Legends is currently very well received. The upcoming feature ensures that the fingers are spared.
What is this change? It is about a function that allows players to sprint automatically. This change is only indicated for consoles on the related Trello board, but according to a developer’s comment, it is also expected to come to PC.
With this function, sprint buttons no longer need to be pressed or held multiple times for characters to sprint. This also counteracts some problems and bugs.

Problems with somewhat clunky controls or delayed sprints after a fall or a dash should thus become a thing of the past. While there was already a similar function on PC, players now hope that characters can continue to sprint without needing to press a button. Overall, good movement in Apex Legends will improve as a result.
When will the change come? The changes on the board are expected to appear “in a future patch.” The developers have specifically pointed this out, that this does not mean it has to be the next patch.
It is possible that this change will already be included in the upcoming patch. However, it could also take longer. A specific date has not yet been mentioned.
What else is changing?
These additional changes are on the way: In addition to auto-sprint, there are other features in development and bugs on the watch list, such as:
- Disabling the automatic weapon switch when a weapon is empty – there were already problems with reloading
- Restarting healing when the corresponding button is pressed again
- Issues with the display and registration of “Out of Bounds” status (“outside” the map)
