A leak reveals that two new characters for Apex Legends are already in the code. Some of their abilities have also been uncovered. And when are Wall Runs coming?
These characters have been found: Dataminers have closely examined the code of Apex Legends and came across two previously undiscovered legends. In addition to the names, they also found abilities of the characters:
- Octane: This is a legend that possesses a kind of stimpack ability. It is unclear whether this stimpack can boost health points or perhaps movement speed or other values of characters.
- Wattson: According to his name, the character likely has to do with electricity. This also fits with one of his abilities “Tesla Trap.” An apparently electric trap that gets triggered by enemies. Possibly, he will be used similarly to Caustic.
How strong the new legends will be is still unclear. For the existing 8, it is known:
More names found: The dataminers also came across a list of additional names. However, these likely do not include any further lines of code from which one could deduce abilities or traits. They could also simply be names of new weapons. Dr DisRespect would surely be happy about a new shotgun.

Are Wall Runs coming to Apex Legends? As Gamerant explains, there are also sound files associated with Wall Runs for Wattson and Octane. Wall Runs originally belonged to Apex Legends but were removed before the release. However, they may return as limited game modes.
The fact that the two legends already have sound data for Wall Runs also suggests that they have been in the game’s code for some time.
Perhaps Respawn wanted to keep the selection of characters manageable at the beginning and will release the new legends gradually. On the roadmap for Apex Legends, they have already announced new legends and weapons.
