Recently, Apex Legends introduced its new legend, the fierce melee fighter “Forge” for the season. However, Forge has now been treacherously murdered during an interview. Apparently by the actual new legend Revenant, who you might be playing soon.
How did Forge die? A video was published on the Apex Legends YouTube channel, featuring an interview with the new legend Forge on the topic of “Stories from the Outlands.”
Lisa Stone conducts the interview with James “The Forge” McCormick. They discuss what it feels like for the fighter to now be fighting in Apex Legends. Forge explains that the legends have never faced an opponent like him. Everything suggests that melee combat is his specialty.
Then there are “technical difficulties,” the lights flicker. And the interview takes a surprising turn.
Suddenly, another character appears behind the melee fighter. Grabbing Forge by the shoulder and transforming his other hand into blades, presumably to ram them into the back of The Forge. Beforehand, the camera switches to the reporter. The actual attack can only be inferred as blood splatters on Miss Stone.
When she opens her eyes again, she has to scream in horror. It seems as if the new legend Forge was already killed before its release in Season 4 of Apex Legends.
Who was that? We have already introduced you to Forge with his strong left. A data miner found some abilities of the brawler, including uppercuts and grappling hooks. This is how Forge was supposed to look and fight in Apex Legends.
Forge probably won’t come to Apex Legends after all
This is the new situation: The video raises several questions. While you don’t see Forge dying, the official website of Apex Legends (via EA.com) shows the character grayed out.
“Rest in peace, Jimmie “Forge” McCormick – Never defeated (with one exception)” it reads there. It is certain that Forge was once defeated. But does that mean he is dead? Will he never come to Apex Legends? That remains unclear.
On Twitter, there is more information about Jimmie’s condition. With a graphic, the team of the fictional television channel Outlands Television explains:
As many of you already know, there was an incident on Talos this morning involving several members of the OTV family. […] Jimmy “Forge” McCormick was brutally attacked by an unknown assailant. […] McCormick was declared dead at the scene. […]
However, there is no certainty that Forge is really dead. After all, many abilities and details about the character have been found through data mining.

A brilliant PR move by Apex Legends to introduce Revenant?
Who was the attacker? It was most likely Revenant. A legend that has also been found and introduced in data mining.
It was suspected that Revenant would be the legend that brings Apex Legends into the game with Season 4. The introduction of Forge disrupted these plans. Was Forge just a means to an end to dramatically introduce Revenant and demonstrate how vicious the new legend will be?
