Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment introduced the new legend of the upcoming season “Arsenal” in Apex Legends: With “Ballistic”, a disgraced superstar comes who wants to protect his son.
Soon the new legend “Ballistic” will arrive in Apex Legends. Respawn released a story trailer on April 25, 2023, which already provided some first insights into the new hero. The background story resembles well-known films with Liam Neeson.
Neeson often plays in his action films failed men who immediately put down the bottle and start killing everyone who crosses their path as soon as the life of a loved one is threatened.
Ballistic is a former gunslinger from the Thunderdome Games (the predecessor of the Apex Games), who is now making his big comeback.

With “Ballistic”, a veteran returns to the Apex Games
Behind “Ballistic” is August Montgomery Brinkman, a former superstar of the Thunderdome Games, known for his ruthless and selfish fighting style. This, however, led to the death of a team member, which is why Ballistic, plagued by guilt, withdrew from the public and ended his career.
For almost 40 years, the disgraced legend lived as a hermit and was forgotten by the outside world. However, his son Nathaniel now follows in his footsteps and wants to continue his father’s legacy. So he qualifies for the Apex Games, which Ballistic learns about in horror through the news.
Thereupon, Ballistic pulls out his former combat gear, grabs his weapons, and blasts his way through the Syndicate’s corridors to make a deal with an old acquaintance: Instead of Nathaniel, Ballistic will return to the arena and prove himself in the games once again.
The background story of Ballistic resembles a typical revenge thriller like “Taken” or “Run All Night” with Liam Neeson, Mel Gibson’s “Blood Father”, or the “John Wick” films.
In those, a former killer is already retired but is forced to return to his old life because of an event involving his family (or his dog) to take bloody revenge.
When is the new update coming to Apex Legends? On May 9, 2023, the new update under the motto “Arsenal” will be released in Apex Legends. Together with the new legend Ballistic.
