In the shooter Apex Legends, a new event will take place in January. During the Soiree Arcade, 7 different game modes will appear within 14 days, each lasting only 2 days. You can earn some rewards and even 4 new skins through these.
What kind of event is this? The Arcade event “Grand Soiree” is a two-week spectacle where you get a new game mode presented every other day.
Some of these have been in the game before and they have only been slightly adjusted; others are completely new. Additionally, there is a new prize system where you can earn new rewards.
Each mode offers challenges for which there are a total of 1,000 points available on the reward path. Over the two weeks, a total of 7,000 points can be earned, with 5,500 needed for all rewards. So you’ll need to complete many, but not all, challenges.
When will the event take place? The Grand Soiree will take place from January 14 to January 28. As the current season ends on February 3, this is the last major event of the Season 3 in Apex Legends.
Just in December, there was a major update that brought higher levels and new loot.
What game modes will there be? The upcoming game modes can already be seen in the graphic above:
- Gold Rush Duos – January 14/15
- LIVE.DIE.LIVE – January 16/17
- Third-Person Mode – January 18/19
- Always Be Closing – January 20/21

- Kings Canyon After Dark – January 24/25

What rewards does the event offer? Through the event, you can earn the following rewards:
- 3 weapon skins
- One hero skin
- Other items such as boosts, badges, and a loading screen.

Large tournament series for Apex Legends
What else is happening in the shooter? In December, Apex Legends announced a large tournament series for 2020. This consists of 12 worldwide live events, the first of which will take place on January 25.
In total, more than $3 million will be awarded in prize money at the tournaments. PC players from more than 60 countries, including Germany, are eligible to participate. You can find the details on the official website.
One of the biggest pro gamers from Apex Legends has already “retired” in December. He now prefers streaming over participating in tournaments.
Even the well-known streamer Ninja is glad to have stayed with Fortnite:
