Apex Legends has announced the first official Halloween event “Fight or Fright”. This will start soon and brings new skins, an all-new game mode, and the King’s Canyon map back.
What’s in the Halloween event: With “Fight or Fright,” several new features are coming to Apex Legends:
- exclusive event challenges with two legendary weapon skins as rewards
- exclusive “Shadowfall” mode featuring a night version of King’s Canyon
- a total of 24 limited cosmetics
- a Lifeline heirloom set
- double experience points for the top 5 from October 25 to 28
When does the Halloween event start? “Fight or Fright” starts on October 15. An exact start time has not been announced yet; however, events typically start between 7 and 9 PM. The event ends on November 5.
The Halloween Skins
These are the skins you can get: So far, only the two legendary weapons and three skins for legends have been announced:
- a legendary skin for the Alternator in scarecrow style
- a legendary skin for the Devotion in vampire style
- “Vampire” Crypto (see title image)
- “Frankenstein” Gibraltar
- “Clown” Caustic
Other cosmetics include badges and music packs. Each skin also receives its own quips that the legend can equip.
How do I get the skins? You can either purchase the skins directly for Apex Coins (real money currency), craft them with crafting materials, or receive them randomly in event Apex Packs:
- When bought, they cost
- legendary items 1800 Apex Coins
- epic items 1000 Apex Coins
- In crafting, they cost
- legendary items 2400 crafting materials
- epic items 800 crafting materials
- Event Apex Packs cost 700 Apex Coins
You cannot get duplicates in the packs. They contain one event item and two non-event items. This is likely a response to the frustration caused during the “Iron Crown” event.
This is how you get the heirlooms: Additionally, there is an heirloom set for Lifeline. You will receive this as a free reward if you collect all 24 cosmetics from the event.
If you fail to obtain the heirloom during the event, you can still randomly obtain it as a bonus in packs like you could with Wraith. However, getting it targeted after the event could be expensive.
This is how the new mode “Shadowfall” works
What is “Shadowfall”? In “Shadowfall,” you play on the old map King’s Canyon, which was replaced by the new map “World’s Edge” in Season 3. However, King’s Canyon is now in a dark night version with creepy decorations.
A match of “Shadowfall” is played solo, but not as a traditional battle royale. You start with 34 other players in a round and engage in combat first. However, if you die, you are not dead but return as a zombie.
The zombies cannot use weapons or abilities but can run fast, climb, and perform a strong melee attack. They also have unlimited respawns.
Once only ten legends are left alive, they must reach an evacuation ship. The zombies must prevent them from reaching it.
