In Apex Legends, the new Voidwalker event has started. We will tell you everything you need to know about it and look at the patch notes.
What kind of event is this? The new Voidwalker event revolves around Wraith and her mysterious origin in the labs beneath King’s Canyon. The event includes:
- Changes to the map
- Several challenges for new items that can be earned for free
- A new, time-limited mode
- New skins available for purchase in the shop
- A Double XP event from September 6-9
- Some bug fixes and further changes.
When does it start and how long does it last? The event started yesterday, on the evening of September 3, and will run for two weeks until September 17.

How the map is changing: In King’s Canyon, several accesses to laboratories underground have been opened. Here, battles can take place – and there is loot.
In addition to the new laboratories, a new portal has appeared on the map that leads exactly into this underground and out again. It works similarly to the portal ability of Wraith, but on a much larger scale.
When you jump, you can enter it directly in flight to land immediately on the ground, or use it on the ground to be thrown back into the air. You can take a closer look at how it works in the video.
New Mode with Special Rules
This is how the new mode “Armed and Dangerous” works: The time-limited game mode “Armed and Dangerous” transforms the already fast-paced gameplay of Apex Legends into an even wilder slaughter. This is ensured by some special rules:
- Only sniper rifles and shotguns (including the hated Mozambique) are available as weapons.
- Gold variants of the weapons can be found in “High Tier” zones.
- Kraber and Mastiff can be found in later airdrops and rarely on the ground.
- Only attachments for these weapons can be found.
- All ammunition except shotguns has smaller stack sizes.
- Only “white” armor and helmets can be found, and even that less frequently.
- There is generally 45% less loot to be found (excluding crates).
- More syringes but fewer shield batteries can be found.
The new mode makes you all glass cannons, who can easily eliminate an opponent with a few shots, but can also be killed just as quickly.
These adjustments take place: There are fewer adjustments with this patch. The Triple Take now has wider projectiles and submachine guns can no longer be equipped with the 3x HCOG and 2x-4x ACOG.
Additionally, the new legend Wattson has been adjusted. Her ability “Interceptor Pylon” can only deploy one pylon now. She also receives the “low profile attribute” that has already been applied to Wraith, Pathfinder, and Lifeline.
This gives her 5% more damage to her hit points. This is likely related to the hitboxes. The other tanks, Gibraltar and Caustic, however, receive 10% and later 15% less damage since an earlier patch.
Several bugs have also been fixed and conveniences introduced. Now there is finally the promised feature for automatic sprinting for all platforms. You can find the complete list of changes on the official site.
