A new update for Apex Legends is now live on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. It brings the new duo mode and some changes to weapon balance.
What’s included in the new update? The update from November 5 brings new content and some adjustments to Apex Legends:
- The new duo mode is now available from November 5 to November 19
- Some weapons and legends will be adjusted
- You can now use the shooting range
Additionally, the developers are fixing some bugs and issues, such as with the ranked mode. Also, the Halloween event ends with the update.
When is the update released? The update is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One (November 5 at 19:30).
How large is the update? The update size varies across platforms:
- PC: approximately 2 GB
- PS4: approximately 4.2 GB
- Xbox One: approximately 6 GB
Duo mode and more – Patch notes for update 3.1 from November 5
This is how the duo mode works: The new duo mode of Apex Legends integrates with the other modes. Simply grab a partner and select the “Duo” option in the lower left when choosing the mode.
After that, you will enter a queue for the duo mode on the new map from Season 3, World’s Edge. Here, you will play against other duo teams.
The mode is time-limited and is playable (for now) only until November 19. Whether it will return is not yet certain. Respawn seems to be testing the new modes, similar to the Solo mode from the “Iron Crown” event.
What is the shooting range? Additionally, you can select the “shooting range” as another mode. Here, you can test all kinds of legends, weapons, and attachments on training dummies solo or with a squad.
These are the adjustments and improvements: In addition to the new features, there are some adjustments affecting both weapons and legends:
- The headshot multiplier of the Wingman has been lowered to 2.1, after it was previously adjusted to 2.15
- Shotguns, the L-Star, and the sniper rifles Longbow, Kraber, and G7 Scout now have larger projectiles
- The EMP of the new legend Crypto now also damages armor that is dropped by players
Additionally, you can now exchange daily challenges with the use of ranked tokens. The price increases to up to 1000 tokens per exchange.
Bug fixes in the new update
These bugs have been fixed: A number of issues have also been fixed in the new update. This includes bugs where Crypto was thrown out of his drone by the gas of a friendly Caustic or the disappearance of Bangalore’s rockets.
The ranked mode has also been slightly improved. You should no longer receive a penalty for leaving the match after two and a half minutes since your banner was picked up.
A warning should indicate whether you will still be penalized. Recently, there have been some issues with the penalties for leaving ranked games.
