AOC, known for gaming monitors, has introduced the GM510, a lightweight mouse. MeinMMO editor Benedikt Schlotmann has tested the model for you and explains who might benefit from the mouse.
Manufacturer AOC is better known for monitors and is represented among our best gaming monitors for PC gamers with its devices. Meanwhile, AOC has also introduced peripherals for gamers. This includes several mice, keyboards, and gaming headsets.
I was able to try out the GM510 from AOC. This is a particularly lightweight wired gaming mouse. It also features a permeable honeycomb pattern. In the test, I explain who might find the mouse worthwhile and whether it deserves a chance.
Who tested this?
I have a fondness for gaming mice and currently own over 20 gaming mice privately. For MeinMMO, I have been testing hardware for our readers since 2019. Mice, along with gaming headsets and keyboards, are among my absolute favorites when it comes to peripherals for PC and console, and I know my stuff.

Included, Design, and Build
What is included? The GM510 is only delivered with the mouse and a mandatory manual. No additional mouse feet are included, and the mouse cable is also non-detachable.
How is the mouse constructed? The model is currently available in an entirely black design:
- On the top of the mouse, you will find the main buttons and, in between, the scroll wheel. On the top, there is a small switch to adjust the DPI.
- On the left side, there are two more buttons in the thumb area. There are no additional buttons or a sniper button.
- The model features a very smooth surface and a honeycomb pattern. The mouse does not offer rubberized side surfaces.
The GM510 is illuminated from within, giving it a quite unique RGB lighting. Otherwise, the AOC symbol on the mouse is very prominent. The open honeycomb pattern of the mouse ensures a low weight but also has the disadvantage of easier soiling than closed mice.
Nevertheless, AOC has found a more intelligent solution for the honeycomb pattern than other manufacturers. While you can see the sensor and the technology of the mouse inside, for example, with SteelSeries, AOC has a real cavity inside the mouse. The actual technology is located at the front in a closed area. Dust and dirt, therefore, do not reach the sensor or mouse buttons. And in my opinion, that is a well-thought-out solution.
Processing
Despite its low weight of only 58 grams, the mouse feels well-made. The entire model is made of plastic, but there are no sharp edges, and nothing rattles during movement. AOC uses a nylon sleeve for the cable, which is worth mentioning positively. However, it is a pity that the cable is not detachable.
Software
The gaming mouse relies on the “G-Menu” software from AOC. The software is intuitive, elegantly designed, and works without problems, completely convincing me. This is how software for a gaming mouse should look. The black-red design is also pleasantly understated.
With two clicks, I am directly at the settings, and the menus are clearly and understandably structured. Roccat’s Swarm or Razer’s Synapse offer more features but significantly less comfort than “G-Menu”.
