In Borderlands 3, you can already collect cool loot before the game is even released. This is possible with the help of Twitch.
Loot is an essential part of the Borderlands series. There’s hardly anything more satisfying than the good feeling of getting a fancy weapon in the game, with which you can really give it to the crazy enemies in the next few hours. It’s even cooler that fans can snag some weapons and gear before the game’s release. All they have to do is watch streamers play on Twitch.
How does it all work? Borderlands 3 uses a Twitch extension called ECHOcast. By using this, you can look closer at what the streamer is doing. For instance, you can see the exact weapons they are using, which talents they have chosen, or what kind of inventory they have. If you also link your Twitch account with your Shift account, there is another feature: Loot that the streamer receives can be used in your own game.
A loot piece from the streamer’s chest: Whenever the respective streamer opens a rare loot chest, all users of the ECHOcast extension have 30 seconds to activate it. After that, all users are entered into a draw, and some winners are randomly selected. These winners can choose an item that was in the streamer’s chest. That item will then drop directly into the in-game mailbox of Borderlands 3.
Loot before the release: In plain language, this means that fans can already collect their first loot pieces before the release of Borderlands 3. They just need to watch the streamers and pay attention to when they open a loot chest to have a chance at the extra loot.
When is the first loot available? The first gameplay sessions with streamers will be tomorrow, on May 1, 2019. Then our Leya will be able to play Borderlands 3, and anyone who wants can earn some loot that Leya gets her hands on.
How to participate: Anyone who wants to snag some first loot needs a Twitch account as well as a Shift account (register here). Next, you go to the account management of Shift, select “Game Platforms,” and link your Shift account with your Twitch account – done! Now you can snag loot when streamers are playing the game.

Will you secure some loot from the streamers before the game’s release? Or would you rather earn all the weapons yourself?
