The MMORPG Tarisland has recently released a new expansion. Now the developers are trying to attract new players to the MMORPG.
How is Tarisland doing currently? The MMORPG Tarisland launched this summer and has now released its first expansion. With Blight Dragon Elegy, it will turn really wintry in the MMORPG. The expansion provided a new map with a wintry look, new dungeons and raids, as well as improved systems for balancing and class upgrades.
Despite the new features, the expansion seems to fall short of the developers’ expectations, at least according to the view counts of the trailers on YouTube in comparison to the release. Additionally, players are now being paid to bring their friends into the game.

New action pays players for their friends
What is this action about? To bring new players into the game, Tarisland is offering its players a new promotion. In this, you can invite your friends and score rewards. Your friends just need to be invited by you via your personal link, which you can find on the developers’ website and complete some quests.
In the German version of the game, you have the chance to win in-game items, mounts, and gift vouchers that you can also use outside the game. There is no direct reward for inviting new players.
However, in the version in Southeast Asia, players are rewarded much better. Here, everyone also has the chance to receive the same rewards as in our version, but additionally $5 for each new friend who plays the game.
According to the website, players there can invite up to 200 friends and thus earn $1,000, which is approximately €925 (as of October 24, 2024). This is a nice sum not only in this country. In many Southeast Asian countries, the average income is far below this figure. So, it can be really worthwhile for people there.
Is this action unusual? No, not really. Tarisland has previously launched promotional campaigns that offered players prizes to promote the game. In the past, smartphones, gift cards, and tickets for sports events have been won.
The new event joins the series of marketing actions that are unusual for an MMORPG but occur repeatedly in Tarisland.
