Have you always wanted to beat up the Ninja Turtles on SpongeBob SquarePants? Here is your chance: In “Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl,” various childhood heroes from TV are smashing through the area, Smash Bros-style.
What’s going on? In a new trailer shared by IGN, a ton of cartoon characters are seriously hitting each other.
“Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl” is the occasion: A new fighting game set to be released in fall 2021 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
The All-Stars are, unsurprisingly, cartoon characters from Nickelodeon history, which you might recognize depending on your age.
Among them are:
- Michelangelo and Leonardo from “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”
- SpongeBob SquarePants, Sandy Cheeks, and Patrick Star from “SpongeBob SquarePants”
- Helga from “Hey Arnold!”
- Danny Phantom from “Danny Phantom”
- A green dinosaur named “Reptar” from “Rugrats”
- Nigel Thornberry from “The Wild Thornberrys” (also known as “the guy from the smashing meme”)
- The “Powdered Toast Man” from “Ren & Stimpy”
- Lucy and Lincoln Loud from “The Loud House”
- Oblina from “Aaahh!!! Monster”
- The alien conqueror Zim from “Invader Zim”
More fighters are set to be announced in the future. The field already indicates that this is a game with crossover qualities. Characters from various franchises are out to beat each other up.
This reminds users in the comments of the trailer of another well-known fighting game. And the comparisons don’t stop there.

Under the video, which currently has about 7,300 upvotes to about 214 downvotes (as of July 13, 7:00 PM), users make comparisons to the popular Smash Bros. series in the comments.
This is not surprising. For not only the crossover itself but also the gameplay in the trailer reminds of Smash. Different stages with platforms are shown where the characters apparently fight until they fly off the screen in high arcs.
The characters can each rely on specific attributes. SpongeBob uses karate, while Danny Phantom uses lasers, and the Ninja Turtles use their weapons.
The whole thing is supposed to be playable solo, but also in multiplayer. It’s not Nintendo-exclusive like Smash Bros.
