The cheats in the battle royale shooter PUBG are rampant. The developers recently even mentioned that the situation was escalating. The team is currently working hard on new anti-cheat measures that were supposed to be implemented this week with a new update. But now this update has been postponed due to unforeseen problems. A new release date has not yet been set.
Reshade is already blocked
However, the development team announced on Twitter that they are already blocking the Reshade tool. This has led to some criticism from the community when it became known that the tool no longer works. Many PUBG players use it to optimize the game’s graphics with richer colors. However, Reshade can also be used to cheat, as certain settings allow players to better spot opponents in the distance, thus improving aiming. Those who use Reshade gain an unfair advantage.
More tools may be affected
If you have Reshade installed, you will not be able to start PUBG as long as the tool is on your PC. If you find that you cannot start the shooter even after uninstalling Reshade, you may need to reinstall the game.
Besides Reshade, other tools may also be banned, including Nvidia’s Shadowplay, which is used for recording gameplay.
The developers of PUBG state that players should report if a harmless tool is banned. The team will review this and take action if necessary to ensure everything works again.
