So far, the Interceptor has had a rather mixed reputation in Anthem. For many, it is considered too weak, too fragile, and rather unsuitable for the Grandmaster levels. A Reddit video now proves the opposite.
This is what the video shows: User SFNF_ posted a video with PC gameplay on Reddit, titled “Yes, Interceptor CAN handle Grandmaster 2!”
It shows him zipping through the Fortress Temple of Skar at an insane speed as the Interceptor, taking apart just about everything and every opponent – and doing significantly better than his other team members.
Especially his strategy against the boss Scelos is impressive, taking very little damage. He uses the mobility of the Interceptor effectively.
The Interceptor is considered too weak by most
This is why the video is so interesting: Among players, the Interceptor previously had a reputation for not being able to handle higher difficulty levels due to its low sturdiness.

Many also refrain from using this Javelin since the ultimate attack is comparatively weak compared to the others. However, after many have seen this video, they seem to have changed their minds.
Gameplay shows what is possible: The Interceptor can indeed succeed at higher difficulty levels, as seen in the video. However, one must optimally utilize the advantages of the Javelin. Of course, appropriate gear is also important.
Accordingly, SFNF_ has very strong Masterwork equipment that strengthens shields and also significantly enhances skills. Nonetheless, the video shows that the right movements are at least equally important.
This build is used in the video:
- Weapons:
- Truth of Tarsis (upgraded Devastator)
- Garretus Counterstrike (legendary Trajectory)
- Skills:
- “Serpent’s Veil (Masterwork Poison Bomb)
- Second Death (Masterwork Stormstrike)
- Components
- Rapid Fire Pistol Ammo (Epic)
- Path of Customization (Masterwork)
- Survival Algorithm (Masterwork)
- Retribution Matrix (Masterwork)
- Path of the Plunderer (Masterwork)
- Fleeting Talisman (Masterwork)
Especially the Fleeting Talisman is essential for the playstyle. Because dodging three times refills the magazine of the equipped weapon. This way, SFNF_ does not need to reload even once.

The community is impressed
How players are reacting: Under the video, many express themselves positively and are very impressed by the scenes, as user Darokaz says: “Okay, that was really fun to watch.”.
Other Interceptor players are also thrilled, like _TrustMeImLying: “I am impressed. Great moves, excellent agility. This is what others do not understand.”.
Many are particularly surprised at how reliably SFNF_ dodges all turrets and snipers, with nearly perfect timing.

However, some also note that such fast movements are actually only possible on PC with mouse and keyboard. Indeed, it is much harder to exploit the Interceptor’s movements with a controller.
Nonetheless, with over 2000 upvotes, the video is very well received and seems to have polished the reputation of the Interceptor at least somewhat.
