In recent days, the mood in the Anthem community has noticeably shifted. The Community Manager addressed the players’ concerns and assured that the team is committed to improving Anthem.
Why is Anthem in crisis? The latest patch for Anthem has upset players. It fixed a bug that temporarily increased loot drops. Players even called for a boycott of the game by not logging into Anthem this week.
The community also voiced concerns about a lack of communication: BioWare had been much more open a few weeks ago and had engaged more on social media. The developers were accused of wanting to hide negative changes in patch notes.
In the Anthem subreddit, a user summarized all this criticism and the players’ concerns in a long post, to which the Community Manager promptly responded.
What does the Community Manager say? Anthem’s Community Manager Jesse Anderson thanked players for their openness. At the same time, he apologized for not being able to address every detail, as it is either not his expertise or he simply does not have the relevant information.
- Anderson stated that the mood in the community was much better recently, which encouraged the developers to engage more with players. “When some people say, ‘be nice, or the developers will stop posting,’ that is 100% true. Be respectful and constructive with your feedback, then probably more team members will respond.”
- The team may sometimes address trivial issues instead of tackling huge problems. This is because not everyone has the information or the team is still discussing how to resolve those issues.
- The team is also not satisfied with the loot at the moment. Changes to it are a top priority.
- The Community Managers are open to any feedback and will pass it on to the developers. The team is aware of the players’ concerns.
Developers are on it: Finally, Anderson assured that BioWare is working hard to continually improve the game. Anthem is “here to stay.”
The developers are well aware that there is still a lot of work ahead to fix parts of the game. However, they also feel obligated to make improvements and release new content.
