In the online shooter Anthem, there’s a lot of tweeting going on again. This time the topic is the demo of Anthem. What scope will it have, and what level range will players be in?
This is how BioWare shares information about Anthem: Recently, there have been livestreams where the developers cover a topic clearly and then talk for a long time about things like recently about the loot or the customization of Anthem’s Javelins.
However, most of the time the flow of information about the new game is disorganized.
Interested players ask something on Twitter, and the producers or other employees of BioWare sporadically respond to questions.
This makes reporting on Anthem relatively difficult. The news always looks like a shopping basket, filled with all sorts of stuff from every shelf. Just like today.
This is the new info about the demo: Producer Mike Gamble outlined what will be in the demo taking place in January and February 2019 for Anthem:
- A good mix of different things. Missions, a stronghold, something from Tarsis, and free play.
- The starting level of the demo is 10 and you can reach a maximum level of 15. Gamble revealed the maximum level in another tweet.
- Progress from the demo cannot be transferred to the actual full game Anthem.
This is the announcement about split-screen and couch co-op: Here Mark Darrah clearly states that Anthem will not support this.
This is the announcement about matchmaking: It is stated that there will be no prevention against having four of the same type of Javelin in a stronghold. However, matchmaking tends to assemble a diverse group with several types of Javelins.
This is the announcement about the season pass: Here Gamble states: “There is no season pass. Just get the game. Don’t worry about it afterwards.” The idea is to keep the community together.
If the world changes, then it will change for everyone.
However, Mike Darrah already stated in July 2018 that they do not rule out the possibility of paid DLC coming to Anthem at some point. Perhaps they will introduce a new Javelin. That could then cost money – or maybe not. They don’t want to commit to this.
