Anthem was announced with some cool trailers. Players are now asking on Reddit: Where are some of the features from the videos in the game?
What are players missing? In the Anthem subreddit, player TheWalkingDerp_ has compiled some features from trailers and gameplay videos. These things were seen in the videos, but cannot be found in the finished game. Among other things, he lists these features:
- Starting missions from a Strider
- Sudden explosions or dense flocks of birds in the open game world
- Strongholds accessible from the game world
- The dynamic appearance of enemies, rather than appearing from a portal

The post has already accumulated over 7000 upvotes and 1300 comments. Some players agree with TheWalkingDerp_ or write themselves what they miss from the trailers or what they would like to see in the game.
What do players wish for? Many players who responded in the post wish to enter the Strongholds through the open game world. One player wishes to jump straight into Freeplay and then have access to everything that can be done in the game.
Another Freelancer misses the specific behavior of enemies. Trailers often showed camps of different enemy factions and how the creatures went about their daily work. In the finished game, you rather fly to a spot where the enemies then appear.
This is BioWare’s response: The lead producer Ben Irving has spoken in the post and said that things change during game development. There are millions of reasons why ideas evolve.
BioWare has shared as much as possible with players. Some things are not as they were during development. However, this is not because BioWare was not honest at the time, but because features would have evolved during development.
Do you also miss features from the trailers? What would you like to see in the game?
Next, a patch is coming to Anthem again. This is what BioWare says:
