Anthem has a problem with its loot that has been discussed for days. BioWare has now announced that there will soon be an update regarding the loot.
Who is speaking? Ben Irving is one of the lead producers on Anthem, who is in constant contact with the community and keeps them informed about new developments. He is also known from developer streams.
Irving announces on Twitter that the team has been discussing loot and loot drops in Anthem for a long time.
When will the announcement come? BioWare hopes to give the community an update today, on February 27. However, there is no guarantee that we will actually hear more today. But we can assume that it will happen soon.

What is the problem with loot in Anthem?
The hunt for loot in Anthem is currently still unsatisfactory. There are several reasons for this.
Senseless perks: Anthem’s loot is equipped with inscriptions that equate to perks. The items thus receive random stats that trigger different additional effects.
On one hand, the inscriptions are poorly described. On the other hand, some of them make no sense at all. There are weapons with properties that refer to completely different weapons and are therefore useless.
Activities for good loot are unbalanced: In the endgame, Anthem currently has three strongholds that correspond to raids. Here, players can sometimes grab the best loot. These have different durations and difficulties, which makes a big difference.
However, the difference in the quality of the loot is not noticeable. Therefore, players often decide to just run the shortest and easiest raid to efficiently farm masterworks and legendary items.

Loot cannot be farmed deliberately: In Anthem, the randomness decides which loot players receive. Already, abilities and components can be found in strongholds or through legendary missions. However, this can only be done once a day per faction.
For certain weapons, focused farming is not possible. If players want the “Papa Pump,” they have no way to specifically farm that weapon. Since there are so many possibilities for loot through the inscriptions, it can become exhausting for players to let randomness decide for them.
Community Reactions
On Reddit: On Reddit, there is a desire for BioWare to hire Travis Day to develop Loot 2.0 in Anthem. This request can be viewed with a slight wink. Day was one of the leading developers and designers of Diablo 3 and recently gave BioWare tips on how to improve the loot system:
There is a certain excitement among players, and they can barely wait to hear something concrete. There is a consensus that the announcement regarding the loot will be emotionally received, regardless of whether it is good or bad news.
On Twitter: Under Irving’s tweet, which reports on the loot announcement, players express their gratitude for the open communication. Here too, they are now waiting eagerly.
What are you hoping for from the announcement? How should loot and loot drops in Anthem be revised?
