The lead designer of Anthem, Corey Gaspur, has died. BioWare is mourning an important colleague and good friend.
For BioWare and all fans of the game studio, it is a sad day, as the lead designer of Anthem, Corey Gaspur, has passed away. This was announced by BioWare yesterday evening (31.07.2017) in a brief blog post on their website.
Most players will likely have worked on something during their gaming careers to which Corey Gaspur contributed significantly. He worked at BioWare since 2006.
Games he was significantly involved in include:
- Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood
- Dragon Age: Origins
- Mass Effect 2
- Mass Effect 3
Additionally, there are numerous DLCs for the above-mentioned titles.
Just a few weeks ago, Corey Gaspur welcomed his former “mentor” Casey Hudson back at BioWare as General Manager. He also expressed his grief, stating that they “have lost a member of the BioWare family. Corey Gaspur was an impressive designer and friend.”
Who will succeed Gaspur is currently unknown. Our condolences go to his family.
