Anthem is already playable for the first ones, but there are annoying bugs in the game that are supposed to be fixed with the “Day One” patch at the official launch.
On February 15, the Early Access for Anthem started. In the last two days, a few bugs have appeared, some of which were already known from the demos.
On Twitter Lead Producer Michael Gamble published a list of bugs that are supposed to be fixed soon.
These bugs will be fixed with the Day One Patch:
1. Shot from thin air
Players are currently being shot by invisible enemies. This bug seems to be related to streaming. This bug is particularly noticeable on slow or full hard drives. The patch is supposed to improve this.
2. Crashes in Fort Tarsis
The game currently crashes sometimes or the player loses connection when talking to NPCs in Fort Tarsis. This bug will be fixed.
3. Loading screen frozen
Loading screens sometimes do not finish loading and freeze. There are supposed to be “more fixes” regarding this. This issue was quite prominent in the Anthem demos. It should only occur rarely now.

4. Sound bug – Audio drops out
The sound either speeds up, slows down, or completely drops out. It seems to BioWare that this error mainly occurs when players are in a group of four and in intense firefights. Additionally, there are other circumstances that are difficult for BioWare to pinpoint and consequently hardly reproducible.
However, the audio performance has reportedly improved significantly since the demo. There is now a significant fix for the aforementioned issues. BioWare is also working closely with Frostbite to identify the problems. Frostbite is the engine of Anthem.
5. Opened chests not counting
In some missions, challenges must be completed to progress. It is among these challenges to open a certain number of chests.
If someone from the group opens the chest, it does not count for you. That shouldn’t be the case.
In the future, all players in the group will get credit for the chests when someone from the team opens one. This also applies outside of challenges.
6. Tomb not accessible
In Anthem, there is a mission where you must complete the “Tomb Challenges”. Some players did not enter the tomb after successfully completing the challenges. This has been fixed.
7. All Javelins too early unlocked
In Anthem, players unlock new Javelins by reaching levels 2, 8, 16, and 26. Some players suddenly received all Javelins after reaching level 8. That was a bug and has already been fixed. Players who received all Javelins too early will be allowed to keep them.
When will the bug fixes come? The fixes and improvements are expected to be delivered with the Day 1 patch, which will be rolled out on February 22, when Anthem celebrates its official release.
How bad is it with Anthem and the bugs? Right after the release on February 15, Anthem seemed to run smoothly for many. However, since yesterday (February 16), we are receiving more frequent reports of bugs and problems. This could of course be related to the fact that some problems only emerged as the game progressed.
First reviews of Anthem also mention the technical issues as negative. Nevertheless, players also find many things they like, such as the game world or the combat system.
The majority of bugs are not “game-breaking”. This means that Anthem is playable for most players. However, there are also bugs that cause players to be kicked out of Anthem or unable to log in.
So for now, we just have to wait for the patch on February 22.
By the way, what also needs to be adjusted is the Interceptor:
