Electronic Arts is now offering the online shooter Anthem as part of the EA Access and Origin Access programs. Only seven months after the launch.
What has Electronic Arts announced now? Anthem is now available as part of the EA Access and Origin Access subscription services. This means that those who have a subscription can now play the online shooter as part of their library. And that from just 4 euros a month. This is the Basic version of the game.
Anthem needs more players
Why is Anthem now part of this subscription service? Electronic Arts keeps adding games to this program and it was basically just a matter of time until Anthem appeared in the EA Access and Origin Access libraries. While it may seem a bit early for this to happen just seven months after the online shooter’s launch, it’s not that unusual. The same happened with Battlefield V.
With this step, EA is now making the game accessible to more customers. Anyone using one of the subscription services will surely take a look at Anthem, which in turn should lead to an increase in player numbers.
On which platforms is the game available? You can now play Anthem through the EA Access subscription service on PS4 and Xbox One. Through Origin Access, you play on PC.
If you even use Origin Access Premier, you will receive the “Legion of Dawn” edition of the online game with extra armor for your Javelins. This version was also available at release through Origin Access Premier.
How is Anthem doing? Anthem has had a very rocky start. The reviews were disappointing, and there was a lot of criticism from players. Anthem is still considered unfinished, has too little content, a less interesting story, and doesn’t convince many players.
Since its release in February, Anthem has been struggling for the favor of players, but success has been elusive so far. Many have already turned their backs on the title, and the game has left a noticeably visible stain on the reputation of the developer studio Bioware.
After developers left the team and there were complaints about the difficulty of finding teammates for missions, Anthem managed to spark some excitement with the Cataclysm update, at least for a little bit.
