During the open demo of the online game Anthem, testers could collect Alliance XP. Bioware quickly stated that this is not related to guilds. But what do these points bring?
How important are Alliances
What is the Alliance system? Basically, it is a reward system. If you and your friends play an expedition (which includes missions, contracts, freeplay, and strongholds), you will receive Alliance XP at the end. Not only the points you earned yourself are counted, but also those earned by other players.
Even the points of players on your friends list who are not with you count. These XP earn you rewards. However, as of now, only the points of the top 5 players are counted in the Alliance XP pool.
How do you get the rewards? At the end of each week, you will receive the in-game currency Coin. The number of coins you receive depends on how many Alliance points you were able to collect that week. Each player in the “Alliance” receives the currency. You then use the coins to buy cosmetic items for your Javelin.
Friends are important in Anthem
Is there a limit to Alliance XP? The more you play together with friends, the more points you collect. This will be displayed in tiers. The higher the tier you reach, the more coins you get at the end of the week. However, you cannot collect unlimited XP. There is a limit, which Bioware has not yet revealed.
What is the purpose of the Alliance system? Bioware wants to reward playing together with friends. Since friends who are not currently on a mission with you also contribute to the Alliance XP pool, this is intended to create an incentive to make friends with as many players as possible.

How do players perceive the system? The fans of Anthem think the system is good. However, it will need to be seen upon release whether some optimizations are necessary. However, players miss a guild system that they were actually hoping for from the alliances. Bioware stated that guilds will be added to the game at a later date.
