The lead producer Mark Darrah revealed new details about Anthem. He talked about gameplay, loot, rewards, and a few comfort features that many players might appreciate.
Bioware’s Mark Darrah is shaping his Twitter account like a public Q&A session for Anthem. Fans can ask questions here until the release, and the producer answers everything that doesn’t reveal too much about the game. New info about the loadout sparked particular interest:
Can we save our loadout? Yes. The Javelin exosuits can have different skills, modifications, and weapons. This obviously offers a lot of possibilities for creating various builds and loadouts. You will have multiple save slots for the loadouts and can conveniently switch between them.
Can we switch loadouts in missions? No. This was an option in Bioware’s Mass Effect: Andromeda, but it will not be the case for Anthem. You will only be able to switch your loadout between missions.
Bioware revealed even more about gameplay and features
New info about gameplay:
Rewards: You will find rewards that correspond to the level of your freelancer. You can also find rewards for javelins that you are currently not equipped with. You can earn rewards through exploring the map, so you don’t always have to receive them in combat or on missions. Some rewards might even be underwater.
Contact with strangers always possible: When you are out in the open, you can always contact other players. This also applies if they are not in your group. A stranger can, for example, revive you.
No territory battles: The monsters that roam in Anthem will not fight against each other.
Friendly fire: Is not intended. However, it might change by the launch.
Crossplay: Anthem will not support crossplay at launch.
Fall damage: There will be fall damage. So be careful when jumping and flying.
Missions: Are specifically tailored for four players, even if they can be played alone.

New about Javelins:
- The flying ability can receive upgrades if players want to discover more or be faster.
- Javelins cannot be destroyed permanently.
- Javelins are not interchangeable in missions.
- There are no concrete plans yet, but Bioware is considering a new melee javelin (after release).
- All javelins have the same movement speed outside of combat.
- Each javelin will be unlocked through a mission.
More interesting features:
- There will be a mode for colorblind players.
- All characters are synchronized, meaning they are voiced and interact with you.
- On PC, both controller and mouse and keyboard are supported.
