In the online shooter Anthem , 9 new legendary and masterwork weapons have appeared. They are already on the test server, where the Cataclysm update is currently being played. The special thing is: The weapons have new abilities.
This was a point of criticism for Anthem: Players complained that there was little “spectacular” loot that makes a real difference and significantly changes the gameplay experience.
The weapons all felt relatively the same and had no significant impact on how the otherwise great firefights feel in Anthem. Anthem was often compared to Destiny – Bungie’s shooter thrives on its unique weapons.
But now something is happening on the test server of Anthem.
These are the 9 new weapons from Anthem
This is how BioWare plans to address the issue: 9 new weapons have now appeared on the test server, featuring abilities that didn’t exist before:
- Jarra’s Wrath, a Volt Caster – can fire a lightning arc over a short distance
- Lightning Rod, a Volt Caster, can call down lightning to a specific location
- Razorwing, a Blade Slinger, fires a heavy blade that bounces between targets
- Rainmaker, a Pulse Accelerator, sends out energy bursts that explode into smaller projectiles
- Shard Storm, a Blade Slinger, fires experimental crystal projectiles into the immediate area
- Gravedigger, a Pulse Accelerator, unleashes a progressively stronger stream of energy
- Bad Omen, Pulse Accelerator – charges up to then unleash a burst of energy projectiles
- Riza’s Ripper, Blade Slinger – fires a serrated blade that causes sustained shrapnel damage
- Flashfire, Volt Caster – fires a lightning attack that jumps from enemy to enemy
Here you can see all 9 new weapons in Anthem:
Where do these weapons come from? A player introduced 9 of his drops on the EA forum. He says: These items come from 50 loot boxes. There were 7 legendary items among them.
6 of the weapons were presented as legendary. The weapons Rainmaker, Shard Storm, and Gravedigger in their masterwork version.
Where can you see the weapons in action? A YouTuber tested the weapons on the PTS and shows them in action. We’ve embedded the video for you right here above.
