After you have completed the story in Anthem and reached pilot level 30, the endgame begins for you. Here we show you how to best farm masterful and legendary loot.
How do you get good loot? In Anthem, your drops are more or less based on chance. The Grandmaster difficulty levels increase your chances of high-quality items. Endgame activities, such as Strongholds, generally provide the best loot.
What are Masterful and Legendary Items? These two rarities represent the highest rarity levels in Anthem. At these levels, items have special bonus effects and the highest gear properties. Legendary gear also offers the maximum increase for your overall level.
Here you will find a list of all Masterful and Legendary items that exist in Anthem.
Strongholds: The best farming method for abilities
This is how you get new abilities the fastest: Strongholds grant you a guaranteed Masterful ability drop at the end of the expedition starting from Grandmaster 1 difficulty.
In general, Strongholds at Grandmaster 1 difficulty are the best for quickly obtaining high-quality gear. You will defeat a large number of strong enemies during the activity and will also be rewarded with several loot chests along the way.

Starting from Grandmaster 2, you will need to invest significantly more time in a Stronghold because the enemies are stronger and can take much more damage. Due to the currently poor enemy scaling and the lack of loot compensation, it is more sensible for farming purposes to remain at Grandmaster 1 and complete the Stronghold multiple times in a shorter time. However, this could change in upcoming patches.
Here you will find 14 highlights from the last patch that went live on March 9.
Which Stronghold is best suited? The winner here is the Stronghold “Mines of Tyranny”. Due to the low enemy count and the easily hit boss, this Stronghold is best for efficient farming as it can be completed relatively quickly.

However, with a good team, you can also use the Stronghold “Temple of the Scar” as a farming method for rare items. Although this Stronghold is a bit more challenging due to the high number of enemies at the end, it is also more lucrative. If you can optimize the process with your team, the Temple of the Scar is the smarter farming variant.
This tip you should consider: Many players try to speed up their farming process by ignoring unnecessary enemies or leaving the expedition after the first loot chest. However, it is advisable to defeat all enemies before moving on to the next stage. Each enemy offers a chance for a potential drop.
With this trick, you get heaps of components
Legendary contracts are key: When you reach the highest level with a faction, you gain access to Legendary contracts. These reward you with a guaranteed component after completing the mission (on Grandmaster 1) that can even be Legendary with a bit of luck.
How to unlock Legendary contracts is explained here.
If you have reached the highest level with all factions, that means three Legendary contracts that you can repeat daily. This way you can specifically farm the components for the Javelin of your choice.
Here is the trick: If you have a team of friends, you can multiply this farming method. If everyone in your team has access to Legendary contracts, you can complete them all individually one after the other. Only one player may accept a Legendary contract. The other players then join them and complete the mission together. You repeat this until there are no more open contracts.
This way, you can complete a total of twelve Legendary contracts per day in a group of four and thus score a lot of components.
This is how you acquire Masterful and Legendary weapons
So far, there is no precise farming method for high-quality weapons. In most expeditions, you receive random weapon drops from enemies that you defeat along the way. Weapons you already have can be crafted repeatedly thanks to blueprints. Our crafting guide shows you how.
The solution? World events: The most efficient method for obtaining new rare weapons is through world events in free play. Here, you set your difficulty level to Grandmaster 1 and search for every event you can find.
At the end of each world event, you can expect a loot chest containing your potential weapon drop. Along the way, you can also keep an eye out for hidden chests to possibly get an extra drop.
If your power level is high enough and you can take out your enemies with one shot at Grandmaster 1, then you should switch to Grandmaster 2. The scaling is not as aggressive in free play as it is in Strongholds. So feel free to increase the difficulty level further. It will definitely positively affect your loot.
Inscription: This makes farming more effective
Farm like a pro: If you want to increase your chances of good drops, you should pay attention to gear properties with “+ % luck”. If you have a few of these inscriptions in your collection, you can create a separate farming loadout in the forge.
When you start an expedition with increased luck, there should be more good drops for you along the way. However, Anthem fans argue about whether the value really has any effect.
But keep in mind that 90% extra luck is the maximum for this value, anything above this does not grant you additional drop advantages.
