On January 25, the VIP demo of Anthem launches. The developer has also announced the download size of the demo. Additionally, we now know the exact time when the demo ends.
The size of the demo: On Twitter, Michael Gamble, the Lead Producer of Anthem, announced that the demo will be approximately 30 GB in size. Fans with slower internet connections need not worry, there will be a preload.
What we know about the demo
When does the demo start? There are two demos for Anthem. The VIP demo for pre-order customers and the open demo.

- Start: January 25, 2019 at 18:01
- End: January 28, 2019 at 03:01
- open demo
- Start: February 1, 2019 at 18:01
- End: February 4, 2019 at 03:01
What you need to know about the two demos: The VIP demo is intended only for pre-order customers. Other players can only start the demo from February 1.
Progress from the demo: If you have already made progress in the VIP demo, you can carry that progress over to the open demo starting February 1. Your game save will be retained. However, you will not carry over progress from the demo to the actual game.
Then you can download Anthem: You do not have to wait until January 25 to download Anthem. From January 23, you can download both demos. However, you can only play them at the times mentioned above.
This is what the demo size tells us: 30 GB is quite a considerable size for a demo, yet other games have had a comparable demo size.
How long will the download take? Of course, it depends on your internet connection, but you should have the demo loaded within an hour.
