There are new gameplay scenes from the upcoming coop shooter Anthem. A full 15 minutes of gameplay – the entire mission “Lost Arcanist” – await you.
Although Anthem will be released at the end of February, the developers at BioWare have largely held back on gameplay scenes and concrete information about the game. There have only been small bits of information shared on Twitter. However, a full 15 minutes of gameplay footage has now been released by IGN.
What is being played? A large part of the mission “Lost Arcanist” is shown, where players need to find a Matthias Sumner. Only scattered cries for help from him can be heard while he tries to hide from the enemy Scar.
Piece by piece, the characters follow the trail and fight numerous Scar that keep emerging from the ground.
What is there to see? Throughout the mission, we get to see some locations from Anthem. The search begins in a wild jungle area, then moves into a swampy terrain, and ultimately culminates in a showdown in ancient ruins that are almost overrun with enemies.
It is particularly interesting to see that the perspective always jumps between the three Javelins. This allows players to get a glimpse of the different “classes” and decide whether they prefer to be a combo-based ranged fighter or use brutal melee attacks. We have more about the different Javelins in this article.
Do you like the shown gameplay footage? Did the gameplay scenes improve your impression of Anthem? Or are you rather disappointed with the shown scenes?
